Quarter Kelly means betting 25% of the suggested amount. Imagine you are analyzing a Premier League match where the bookmaker offers decimal odds of 3.00 on the away team. After your analysis, you estimate the away team has a 40% chance of winning. First, calculate b = 3.00 − 1 = 2.00. Then apply Kelly: K% = (2.00 × 0.40 − 0.60) / 2.00 = 0.20 / 2.00 = 10%. The full Kelly recommendation is 10% of your bankroll. A Half Kelly bettor would wager 5%, and a Quarter Kelly bettor would wager 2.5%. If your bankroll is $1,000, that translates to $100, $50, or $25 respectively.
